If you wont tell the customer that you're going to control the conversation, than you probably use the wrong system. Answer the question and move on. Ask somebody if they want to be controlled and what are they going to say? No. Control died when the internet came out

It’s a yes or no question. When you start your used car salesmen bullshit you start losing credibility immediately and most importantly you start losing the deal. So your advising your sales staff to lie and patronize your customers. So really all your doing is reinforcing the fact that your a sleaze and I’m not doing business with you.
